The Time Traveller (for so it will be convenient to speak of him) was expounding a recondite matter to us.

Came across your blog via Interview with A Cruiser. I really enjoyed this post--it's very lyrical. I particularly like the last paragraph. Thanks!

Having also cruised that area in a (outboard powered) sailboat, I think you'll find Panama has a lot more to offer in the way of anchorages (amoung other things).

One observation (although it probably falls in the category of 20/20 hindsight for you), the rainy season lasts almost till Christmas in that part of the world.
Perhaps it would've been better to hang in El Salvador longer. Maybe it's just me, but I really hate standing watch in pouring rain.

Tip: check out the cove in the S.E. corner on Isla Parida (unless the rainy season and it's Southerly /S.W'ly winds persist).. in that case the north/mainland facing cove offers better protection.

oh, almost forgot... and the fair northerly winds to Equador/Galapagos, they tend to diminish by mid April.

I was wondering how the "watch" thing went. :) Have fun with Peg. I hope you have adventure weather so she gets to see everything.
Love, mom cher
